Due to the unprecedented flooding in areas along the Bargain Buyway route we will not be having the event this year. Several towns have have been severely effected and the entire area is now working to recover. Highway 281 south of Spencer was completely washed away when the Spencer Dam on the Niobrara River broke resulting in a destroyed business and home and loss of life. Homes and businesses in the east and south portions of Lynch were flooded, multiple families are displaced. The Lynch Hall is now the town’s ‘Command Center’. Niobrara lost businesses and had major flooding along the Niobrara River, this resulted in a bridge and approach being washed out on Highway 12. The highway 11 bridge south of Butte is compromised and closed. Homes and businesses in Verdigre’s main street area were flooded. Pierce and Hadar suffered from major flooding, others with flood damage include Bristow, Verdel, and Clearwater. At this time many roads are still not fully operational. We are truly thankful for all of the shoppers who visit us every year and hope to be back to full strength in 2020. Some towns along the route may still have sales going on, please check with them. We look forward to seeing all of you again next year.
